Overview
Helium (HNT) is a decentralized wireless network for IoT device connectivity and mobile services, launched in 2019 and later migrated to Solana, enabling anyone to deploy hotspots, provide wireless coverage, and earn HNT rewards. Operating a subDAO framework with separate IOT and MOBILE subnetworks, Helium has expanded to over 350,000 hotspots across 80+ countries, including partnerships with global telecom carriers like Telefónica. HNT is the native token used for governance, rewards, and a burn-and-mint Data Credits mechanism, with a maximum supply of approximately 213 million tokens.
