Overview
Aptos is a project focused on building a stable Layer 1 blockchain that enables anyone around the world to freely access digital assets. Aptos aims to achieve mass adoption of blockchain technology by addressing long-standing challenges related to scalability and reliability that have emerged as blockchain has gained attention as a new internet infrastructure. To this end, Aptos leverages technologies such as BlockSTM to deliver high transaction throughput. The native token of the Aptos network, APT, is used for paying transaction fees, participating in validator staking, engaging in on-chain governance, and serving as a means of payment for digital asset transactions within the network.
