DoubleZero is a high-performance physical network infrastructure for blockchains and distributed systems, designed as a decentralized communication layer with low latency and high bandwidth to overcome the limitations of the public internet. Network contributors supply underutilized surplus fiber-optic infrastructure from around the world, while edge filtering equipment and a multicast-based architecture enable fast and reliable traffic handling between blockchain nodes. Through this approach, DoubleZero enhances validator consensus performance and alleviates network bottlenecks for a wide range of infrastructure participants, including RPC nodes, MEV systems, and Layer 2 sequencers. During its testnet phase, more than 140 validators were onboarded, with approximately 16% of Solana mainnet staking supply operating over the DoubleZero network. The 2Z token is used for network usage fee payments, contributor rewards, and staking purposes.
