Overview
Flare Network is an EVM-based Layer 1 blockchain that leverages a modified Avalanche consensus protocol and Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA). It aims to build a network that enables interoperability across all chains through two core protocols—Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) and the State Connector—as well as bridging systems for non-smart-contract tokens such as F-Asset and Layer Cake. The Flare token can be used for influencing governance proposals, serving as collateral for cross-chain bridging, rewarding FTSO contributors, and paying network usage fees (gas fees).
