Overview
Helium is a blockchain-based, decentralized public wireless network. Participants contribute to building the wireless network by providing hotspots, and once coverage is verified on-chain, they receive NHT coins as rewards. HNT is used as the payment method for network users to pay wireless network usage fees. Sensors using the Helium LongFi wireless protocol can connect to the network and enable low-power, low-bandwidth data transmission, making it useful for IoT use cases that require lightweight data transfer.
