Overview
Irys (IRYS) is a Layer 1 blockchain designed as a “programmable datachain,” enabling both data storage and execution. It goes beyond simple data storage by allowing data to become “actionable data,” with on-chain logic embedded directly into the data itself.
The IRYS token is used for paying storage costs and execution fees on the network, validator staking and rewards, and for ensuring network security and data integrity.
