Overview
Kaspa (KAS) is an open-source Layer 1 project that uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) model based on a BlockDAG (Block Directed Acyclic Graph) architecture. While many projects tend to sacrifice decentralization to improve transaction throughput, Kaspa seeks to address scalability challenges in a fully decentralized environment. Within the network, KAS is used for PoW mining rewards and transaction fees, supporting Kaspa’s economic ecosystem and enabling utility across various use cases.
