Overview
Liquity (LQTY) is a decentralized lending platform that allows users to mint LUSD, a USD-pegged stablecoin, using ETH as collateral. Users deposit ETH as collateral and can mint LUSD up to a maximum collateral ratio of 110%. When minting (borrowing) and burning (repaying) LUSD, users pay a 1.5% platform fee in ETH each time, and there is no additional interest charged on LUSD debt. LQTY is an ERC-20 token created for staking (lock-up) within the protocol and for receiving a share of the fees generated from LUSD minting and repayment. LQTY is vested to users through: (i) minting LUSD with ETH collateral, (ii) locking up LUSD to support liquidations when collateral ratios fall, and (iii) providing liquidity to the LUSD-ETH pair.
