Overview
Magic Eden is a leading Solana-based NFT marketplace that also offers a wallet service and a trading platform for Bitcoin-based tokens such as Ordinals and Runes. These services are built on a permissionless smart contract protocol developed by Magic Eden for the Bitcoin and Solana blockchains, enabling peer-to-peer interactions between NFT marketplace users and individual NFT collectors, buyers, and sellers. Magic Eden’s protocol can be applied to a cross-chain NFT marketplace, an NFT launchpad, a mobile wallet, and a Bitcoin Ordinals & Runes marketplace, and it is operated under decentralized governance. The ME token serves as the protocol’s governance token and is also used for utilities such as discounts on service fees (e.g., trading fee discounts on Magic Eden).
