Overview
Metis (METIS) is a Layer 2 scaling protocol that uses optimistic rollup technology. It was created to address Ethereum’s scalability challenges, including high gas fees and slow transaction speeds. Metis aims to help solve the blockchain scaling trilemma by achieving security and decentralization while providing an economical and scalable environment for building apps, businesses, and DAO communities. METIS is used for DAC operations, deposits/collateral, and gas fees within the ecosystem.
