Overview
Mon Protocol is a project that provides a framework for expanding a fragmented intellectual property (IP) ecosystem, beginning with the Pixelmon gaming ecosystem. It is initially applied to the Pixelmon IP, a game-centric, NFT-native IP, and is expected to expand its commercial applications over the long term to include the production of feature-length animations and comic books, as well as merchandise sales.
MON is used for purchases such as in-game currency, exclusive skins, and other game access items, and functions as a governance token that enables participation in decision-making related to Pixelmon’s proprietary monster IP and the ecosystem fund. In addition, it is utilized to support royalty distributions to IP NFT holders.
