Overview
Nervos is a Layer 1 blockchain built to address scalability challenges in blockchain systems, with the goal of establishing an efficient digital asset economy. Nervos is based on its proprietary consensus algorithm, NC-MAX, which draws from Bitcoin’s Nakamoto consensus, as well as a Cell model similar to Bitcoin’s UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) model. On Nervos, all state is stored in Cells, computation is performed off-chain, and validation is handled by network nodes. Nervos adopts a layered architecture that separates the state generation layer from the verification layer, aiming to provide greater flexibility and scalability at each layer. CKB, the native digital asset of Nervos, is used for network fees, DAO staking, and participation in governance.
