Overview
Oasis Network is a privacy-focused, Cosmos IBC-based Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Layer 1 smart contract platform. The network’s native asset is ROSE. Oasis adopts a modular, multi-layer architecture that separates the network into a Consensus Layer and a ParaTime Layer. The Consensus Layer is responsible for block consensus and is run by validator nodes using a high-throughput, scalable PoS consensus algorithm. The ParaTime Layer is a distinctive component of Oasis, enabling multiple runtimes to execute in parallel. The ROSE token is used on the Consensus Layer for delegation, direct staking, and governance, and on the ParaTime Layer for smart contract execution.
