Overview
Sui Name Service is a protocol that provides a decentralized naming service built on the Sui network. Similar to how DNS in Web2 converts hard-to-read IP addresses into human-readable strings, Sui Name Service transforms long blockchain wallet addresses and Sui object IDs into intuitive, text-based addresses. This eliminates the inconvenience of memorizing or manually entering complex wallet addresses and enables users to manage and interact with the network in a more user-friendly environment. NS is the utility crypto asset of Sui Name Service and is used for governance participation and as a payment method within the Sui Name Service ecosystem.
