Overview
VeThor Token (VTHO) is the gas token of the VeChainThor blockchain. VeChainThor produces and validates blocks using the SURFACE (Secure Use-case-adaptive Relatively Fork-free Approach of Chain Extension) consensus mechanism, which is based on Proof of Authority (PoA). VeChainThor adopts a dual-token model, utilizing two cryptoassets VET and VTHO to operate the mainnet. VET holders and node operators generate and earn VTHO in proportion to their VET holdings. Within the VeChainThor network, VTHO is used for transaction fees and node rewards.
