Overview
ZetaChain is a Layer 1 mainnet that provides omnichain smart contracts, aiming to connect a wide range of blockchain networks. Built on the Cosmos SDK, ZetaChain operates multiple validators that participate in block production for network consensus. To enable cross-chain communication, the network also utilizes Observers and Signers. Observers collect information and events from external blockchains and relay them to ZetaChain, while Signers manage ZetaChain’s accounts on external blockchains in a decentralized manner using threshold signature scheme (TSS) technology. ZETA is the native digital asset of ZetaChain and is used for paying transaction fees, staking and delegation, and participating in governance.
