Overview
Canton (CC) is a Layer-1 smart contract blockchain designed for institutional RWA tokenization and TradFi adoption, featuring configurable privacy and a two-tier consensus mechanism that enables unlimited horizontal scalability with full smart contract interoperability. Major global financial institutions including Euroclear, Broadridge, and Tradeweb are network members, with governance managed by the Canton Foundation under the Linux Foundation. CC is a utility token used to pay network fees and reward Super Validators, Validators, and application operators, with all coins earned through network participation — no pre-mine or pre-sale.
