Overview
Rootstock is a smart contract–enabled network secured through Bitcoin merge mining. Through its infrastructure framework, Rootstock provides standardized interfaces for core dApp components such as payments and remittances, name services, decentralized storage, identity, messaging, and oracles, allowing developers to integrate these functionalities without building each infrastructure component from scratch. RIF, the native asset of Rootstock, is used for paying fees for RIF services, token staking, and governance voting.
